Privacy notice

1. Who is responsible for your data

FMScriptBridge is operated by Victor Polyak (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the sign-ups and licensing data described here. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

2. What we collect

Only your email address, and only when you submit the beta or trial-reminder form. We do not ask for your name, and the site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. We do not run your FileMaker scripts or any of your code through this site; the product’s conversion runs on your own machine.

Separately from this site: when you activate, inspect or move a license, the plug-in sends your license key and a one-way machine ID (a hash of your computer and user account that cannot be turned back into either), so the license can be bound to your machines and counted against the machines it covers. Applying an update pass sends the update key from that purchase alongside them. Your script content is never part of it. When you buy, checkout runs through Polar, our merchant of record; Polar passes us your email and the name you entered, and that name becomes the licensed-to line in your license file.

The free trial does the same thing once, automatically. The first time an unlicensed copy converts anything, it asks our server for a 14-day trial and sends two one-way IDs, one for the machine and one for the hardware itself, and nothing else: no key, no email, no account. That is also what remembers that the trial happened, so it lives on our server rather than in a file on your Mac. After that one call the plug-in works offline for the whole window, and a bought license never needs the call at all. The plug-in also checks once a day whether a newer build exists, by fetching a version file from this site; the request carries no identifier and you can turn the check off in Configure.

3. Why we collect it, and our legal basis

If you joined the early-access list before the beta opened, we use your email for one purpose: to tell you when FMScriptBridge is ready, plus the short confirmation you already received. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art 6(1)(a)), given when you submitted that form. You can withdraw it at any time; see Your rights below.

If you join the Mac beta, we use your email to send you the build, the install guide, and short beta updates while you test, plus the same one launch email. The legal basis is your consent (Art 6(1)(a)), given at the beta form; unsubscribe at any time and the emails stop.

If you leave your email on the download page for a trial reminder, we use it for exactly what that form says: one reminder near the end of a typical trial window, plus occasional release news. The legal basis is your consent (Art 6(1)(a)), given at that form, and every such email tells you how to unsubscribe.

If you buy a license, we use your email to deliver and verify it and to answer support requests. The legal basis there is performance of our contract with you (GDPR Art 6(1)(b)), not consent, so we keep it while the license is active. Update and security-fix emails to license holders rest on our legitimate interest in supporting a product you paid for (Art 6(1)(f)), and you can opt out of those without giving up your license.

4. Who else processes it

We do not sell or share your email, and we never use it for advertising. To run this site and the licensing service we rely on these providers (Cloudflare and Resend act as processors on our instructions; Polar, as merchant of record, handles payment under its own terms):

• • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this site and stores your email in a Cloudflare D1 database. The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot check: when you submit, Cloudflare briefly processes your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from scripts. It sets no tracking cookies and we never see that data. If we measure traffic we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you (that is why there is no cookie banner).
• • Resend sends the confirmation and the launch email on our behalf, plus a short internal note to us when a new address joins the list, and, once you hold a license, license delivery, update and security-notification emails.
• • Polar, our merchant of record, handles the payment itself when you buy a license, under its own privacy terms.
• • Cloudflare also processes the IP address your computer connects from when the plug-in calls our licensing server, as any web request does. It is used to run and protect the service (rate limiting and abuse prevention) and is not combined with your license or used to build a profile.

5. How long we keep it

If you joined the early-access list before the beta opened: until FMScriptBridge launches and we have sent the launch email, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. Ask any time and we delete your address. Deletion covers our database and the internal signup notes.

If you joined the beta: beta emails stop when you unsubscribe or the beta ends; once the launch email is sent, your address follows the early-access rule above unless you have bought a license.

If you asked for a trial reminder: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Trial records: the two one-way IDs and the trial dates are kept so a trial cannot be restarted; they identify a machine, never a person.

If you buy a license: we keep your email for as long as your license is active, so we can deliver and verify it, answer support requests, and tell you about updates and security fixes. You can opt out of update emails at any time and keep your license. We also keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR (and similar laws) you can ask us at any time to:

• • access the email we hold for you, or have it corrected;
• • erase it, or restrict or object to how we use it;
• • receive it in a portable form;
• • withdraw your consent, which stops all future emails.

7. International transfer

Cloudflare, Resend and Polar are based in the United States and may process your email outside the EEA / UK, under the standard data-protection safeguards in their own terms.

8. Complaints

Email [email protected] first and we will put it right. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Changes to this notice

If this notice changes before launch, we will update this page and the date above.
